Safe Passage

Safe Passage is seeking a social service/helping professional to join our team and assist in our mission through client advocacy, support, and case management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with emotional and physical safety of domestic & sexual violence survivors through:
    • Protective (restraining) Order assistance
    • Court accompaniment
    • Safety and self-care planning
    • Medical accompaniment
  • Provide excellent, trauma-informed, survivor-centered case planning and assist with activities within the case plan; including, but not limited to:
    • Collaboration and coordinated response with other community supports/agencies
    • Advocating on behalf of survivors in various settings
    • Educating survivors and community partners utilizing our Domestic and Sexual Violence Education Modules to assist with harm reduction
    • Providing emotional support through a safe space/listening ear and identifying coping skills Assisting with goal-setting
    • Collaborating with a professional team to conduct client assessments with the purpose of safety and self-efficacy of clients
    • On-call support shared with other agency professionals
    • Actively engage with our excellent resources in the community through outreach and education to create holistic support and healing for survivors and build safer and healthier communities free from domestic and sexual violence
    • Co-create social change through primary prevention and bystander intervention strategies to support healthy relationships and communities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in social work criminal justice, psychology, human services, or related field
  • 2+ years direct social service, criminal justice, or helping profession experience preferred Experience working with survivors of domestic/sexual violence preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and embrace a team atmosphere centered on positivity and respect
  • Support trauma-informed, survivor-centered care
  • Strong, effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail with documentation and outcome reporting
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and email
  • Willingness to travel throughout local counties have reliable transportation with current driver’s license and auto insurance (mileage reimbursement and agency vehicles available for client transport)

LOCATION

Based in Dearborn/Ohio Counties with occasional travel to surrounding counties.
